Mother and Daughter Explore South America in their Famolares

March 9, 2019

I just returned from visiting my daughter who has been living in South America for the past year. We went to Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile. I only brought 4 pair of shoes, 3 of them Famolares. I never ended up wearing the 4th pair; Nikes. I wore my Flippity Flops, and Band and Delivers every day. Trading them for my Double Visions on occasion. I was surprised to discover that my 24 year old daughter moved down to South America with only 5 pair of shoes, and she told me that she wears her Famolare Honeybuckles and Strapsodys most of the time "because they are so cute, go with just about everything I own, and are so comfortable walking around in them all day and night". She lives in a big walking city, and takes public transportation everywhere. My style will always be haute bohemian. Her style is very eclectic.

My visit with her reinforced why I love being part of the FamGirl community. Though we are two or three generations apart, we all embody similar attitudes and outlooks on life. We care about our planet, our friends and family, and want to leave a positive footprint wherever we go.

My daughter and I have very different taste when it comes to fashion, yet we both really appreciate the way we feel wearing our Famolares; hip, ecologically minded (low carbon footprint), authentic, grounded (it's a heritage brand), happy (the waves improve posture and provide a pep in the step), and they are long-lasting comfortable.

My trip also reminded me that it's not just about the shoes, it's about the essence of the brand and the business we have created to bring Famolares back to the market. We will continue to work hard for you and help you make waves as we improve this world together - one step at a time.
